Navratri Fasting Food
Navratri is one of my favourite festival of the year. I grow up by seeing my family members to celebrate Navratri auspiciously. Grains are not allowed, even those are not fasting typically abstain from onion and garlic for the nine day detox. These are some food which we are making at our home, like to share with all of you .
1. Kuttu/Buckwheat
It's a flour from seed, you can all it pseudo cereal also . Gluten free and rich in nutrients like Mg, Zinc and Vitamins
2. Singhara
English name is Water chestnut. It is a fruit . It has a great cooling effect on the body, rich in K, Ca, Ph and fibre. It a great option in hypertension.
3. Barnyard Millet/Samak
Often called vrat k chawal. Good source of phytochemical.
4.Amarnath/Rajgira
We can eat Amarnath too in the form of roti and khichdi. It can consumed in laddoos too
5. Sabudana /Tapioca pearls
They are small , translucent white balls of tapioca, extracted from the root of plant. It is packed in calories and energy.
6.Aloo/Potato
You can boil the potato and make a chat with vrat ka namak with Dahi.
7. Makhana kheer
You can make a low fat makhana kheer with milk. It's a best dessert to eat in festive season.
With all of the above food keep hydrating yourself. Water is most important in all of this and take proper rest.
